How do I get started?

Click the ‘Apply Now’ button to select your preferred design start date (please note, we always start on a Monday and your project will finish by the following Friday). You’ll be directed to a booking page to secure your desired design kick-off date and fill in a little about yourself and your business questionnaire.

Here you’ll also pay your deposit online and your design week is secured.

What if I need more than 5 pages on my website?

We’ll work with you in our 1-hour strategy call to map out how your website content should flow. In our opinion, most people need less pages than they think.

If you really need all of those pages for launch, we’ll provide a quote for the additional pages.

You’ll also be able to reach out and ask us to add additional pages to your site down the track, or DIY it yourself (thanks to our handy tutorial library!).

I already have a logo, can I use that on my new website?

Yes, of course! There’s a part on the application process where you can upload a copy of your logo. We’ll review it and let you know if we have any suggestions.

I already have a Squarespace website, can this help me update it?

Yes! These sites are built on brand new 7.1 Squarespace website platforms. That way your current site can stay live whilst we complete the build and switch over your domain name before going live with your new website.

I’m not very good at writing, will you write my copy for me?

You’ll receive our Website Copy Templates to help you pull the perfect sentences together. We will also provide minor tweaks if we think something can be improved to work with the design.

However, if this part freaks you out, we’d suggest that you link up with a copywriter before booking your design date, as you’ll need to ensure that your copy is ready prior to your designated design week.

I don’t have any photos of myself, does that matter?

Whilst we think having professional images of yourself is pretty high on the priority list for the makings of a great website, we can still create you a beautiful website without them.

If you don’t have your own branded photos, we’ll work with you to collate an image gallery prior to your design date and you can select some free stock photos or paid stock images to keep your website looking onbrand.

You’ll receive all the Canva graphic templates for each of the graphics on your website, so you can always update these with fresh new photos down the track.

If you’re looking to get a professional photoshoot done in preparation for your new site, we suggest reaching out to your photographer before booking in your design date. This ensures that you’ll have your photos back in time.

If you need help in finding a photographer in your area, reach out to us and we’ll send you a list of our faves!

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes. As part of the application process you’ll be required to pay a 50% deposit to secure your preferred design dates. Once your design week has been booked, no other projects are booked for that week.

Therefore, in order to honour the time set aside for your project, this deposit is non-refundable.

What happens if I’m not ready by my booked design date?

Unfortunately, if you haven’t completed your pre-work, or are waiting on photos/copyrighting to come through, you’ll forfeit your 50% deposit.

We will send you access to your chosen template and access to our Squarespace Style School online tutorial library, for you to work through the customisation of your site in your own time.

That being said, we’ll work with you in the weeks leading up to your design date and check in with you regarding how you’re progressing with your pre-work!

There’ll be plenty of reminders along the way to make sure you don’t miss your design date!

So, what’s included?

You’ll receive a customised text logo, brand board, 5-page Squarespace website in your brand style, access to our video tutorial library and editable Canva graphic templates.

I can’t find a spot that suits my desired launch date. Can you fit me in?

Our Website in a Week dates are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and we only allocate one website per week’s availability, to provide the best quality service to our clients during that week.

You’ll find a waitlist on the application page, should a space become available.

Can you add e-commerce/membership capabilities to my site?

Yes! Squarespace offers both of these options for all websites built on the platform. However, this is outside of the scope of our Website in a Week offer. Therefore, it’s best to reach out to us directly and let us know what you’re after and we’ll provide you with a customised quote and timeframe. We can still offer you 20% off your first year’s ecommerce or membership subscription, so that’s something.

Will my finished site be mobile friendly?

Yes! All our sites are 100% mobile friendly and come with some great customised mobile features that aren’t ordinarily included in just any ol’Squarespace website.

Do you include SEO?

We’ll optimise each of your pages for SEO, using Squarespaces in-built SEO features and functionality.

There are however many factors that contribute to SEO (literally 1000’s!) and therefore we’ll make sure all the important ones are ticked off. If you’d like a more detailed SEO strategy, we can work with you post-launch to improve your findability on Google and other search engines.

Will I be able to edit my site after it launches?

Absolutely! That’s one of the things we love most about Squarespace - it’s soooo user friendly that we know we can confidently hand over the ‘keys’ to your website and you’ll be able to edit and add content as you please.

Each of our Website in a Week clients will receive access to our Squarespace Style School - a virtual library of how-to tutorials for everything you need to know to manage your Squarespace website on an ongoing basis.

Of course, if there’s some more detailed features you’d like to add to your website down the track, we’re here to help with your ongoing website design needs!

What if I don’t have a Canva account?

No problem at all, Emma is a Canva Certified Creative and one of the perks is that she has the ability to offer you a 45 day Free trial for a Pro Account. As your website will be completed in a week, this gives you the remaining 37 days to begin creating content for your next launch or social media calendar.

Are there other costs involved?

You’ll be required to purchase an annual Squarespace subscription (which you’ll receive at a 20% discount because we build so many Squarespace sites!). Additionally, any stock photo licenses, font licenses or other licenses will need to be purchased by you. Any paid third-party apps, such as your mailing list technology and Canva subscription will also be required to be set up and paid for by you. If you need help setting these up, this can be completed by The Brand Method team at an additional cost.
